Seattle Studio Tours

Helping keep the neighborhood studio tour tradition alive for Capitol Hill and Pioneer Square - promotional materials, mobile mapping tools, and a collaboration with Neil Palmer to make it feel like a proper gallery walk.

  • Role: Event Producer
  • Company: AIGA Seattle (volunteer)
  • Timeline: 2014
  • Collaborators: Neil Palmer (mobile mapping tools)
  • Platform: Print, mobile web
  • Status: Produced and executed across two neighborhood tours

The Capitol Hill and Pioneer Square studio tours were AIGA Seattle's annual open-doors event - a chance for the public to walk into the studios, agencies, and freelance spaces that defined the city's design scene.

I helped produce both tours: event identity, promotional materials, and worked with Neil Palmer to build the mobile mapping tools that let attendees navigate between studios on the day of the event. The kind of project where the logistics are as important as the design - getting people from one studio to the next, in the right order, without a printed map falling apart in the rain.
